Abhyanga Massage

Great for fatigue, muscular tightness, stress, insomnia, sluggishness in the body and mind.

Specific medicated oils and specific strokes are used and selected according to your constitution and imbalances.The strokes used are gentle and rhythmic. Ayurvedic massage helps stimulate and expel the toxins built up in the body, improves circulation, strengthens the lymphatic system, improves the immune system and calms the mind. It opens the flow of Prana or Life Force by balancing all three Doshas - Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Shirodhara

Calms the mind, reduces stress, anxiety, depression, promotes sleep, balances hormones.

Shiro means head, Dhara means flow. This is a deeply relaxing treatment in which a continuous flow of medicated oil is poured onto the forehead. This therapeutic and rejuvenating treatment calms the nervous system, stabilises the mind and leaves you in a very calm and meditative state. The Golden A uses only traditional equipment to maximise the healing benefits of the treatment.

Do not have a shower for at least 1 hour

Rest completely, avoiding work, stimulation, excess talking

Basti Treatments

This treatment is specific for back, neck, shoulder and knee stiffness or issues.

A ‘well’ made of dough is placed over the effected area and filled with warm medicated oil. This warm medicated oil penetrates into the deep tissues, lubricating the joints and releasing the tightness in the muscles. This is then followed by a massage concentrating on the effected area and a localised herbal steam. A series of 5 - 10 sessions is recommended for optimal results, along with a personalised home treatment plan.

Kati Basti - Lumbosacral. This is used in conditions such as sciatica, lower back pain and disc problems.

Uro Basti - Shoulder. This is used in conditions such as frozen shoulder, dislocations, RSI problems and shoulder pain.

Greeva Basti - Neck. This is used in conditions such as stiff neck, cervical disorders, whiplash and migraines.

JanuBasti - Knee. This is used in conditions such as arthritis, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.

Vaksha Basti - Thorasic. This is used for thorasic stiffness and emotional healing.

Netra Basti - Eye Treatment

Relieves fatigue, heaviness and dryness in the eyes. Enhances eyesight and slows eye degeneration.

A ‘well’ made of dough is placed over the eye and filled with a plain or medicated warm ghee. Followed by a gentle massage of the specific marma points around the eyes.

Nasya - Nasal Treatment

Highly effective for sinus issues, migranes, hormonal issues, paralysis, mental disorders, loss of smell and taste.

This treatment involves a gentle face massage, warm fomentation and the administration of medicated oil into the nasal cavity. Nasya cleanses the different cavities, increases oxygenation and respiration and activates the pineal and pituitary glands, which improves brain functioning, balances hormones and the energy centres in the head.

Karna Poorana - Ear Treatment

Effective for ear aches, infections, tinnitus or hearing loss.

Karna means ear Poorana means full. This treatment involves filling the ears with warm medicated herbal oil, acting as a lubricating herbal bath for the ear.

Kizzali Bolus

Provides relief from Rheumatoid Arthritis, joint pain and fatigue.

This treatment involves medicated herbal ‘bolus’ prepared from Nirgundi plant, desiccated coconut and fresh lemon. The boluses are soaked in hot medicated oil and massage into the body. This treatment finishes with a herbal steam.

Udwarthanam Massage

Specific treatment for weight loss, cellulite and water retention, improving lymphatic flow and the immune system.

In this treatment the body is massaged with warm medicated oil and then rubbed with herbal dry powder to break stagnation and stimulate lymphatic flow. Followed by a herbalist steam to open the channels and flush the toxins from the body.

Navar Kizzi - Milk & Rice Massage

Specific for Arthritis, joint and muscle pain, inflammation and neurological disorders.

This specific treatment usues special rice (Navara rice) which has medicinal properties. The rice is soaked overnight and then cooked in a milk decoction which is blended with Ayurvedic herbal preparations and made into a bolus. The bolus is soaked in the warm decoction and used to massage the body. This treatments is followed by a herbal steam to open the channels and flush the toxins from the body.

Pizhichil

Effective for chronic fatigue, muscle tension, nervous system issues and depletion.

This deeply relaxing treatment given by 2 therapists, involves a continuous pouring of warm medicated oil all over the body along with a gentle massage. This profound treatment is excellent for chronic fatigue, poor circulation, chronic muscle tension, calming the nervous system and extreme Vata imbalances.

Includes treatments with two therapists, using 3-4 litres of herbalised oil tailored to your needs.

Pinda Swedana Massage

Relief from joint pain, arthritis, muscle pain, inflammation and cellulite.

This treatment involves warm medicated herbal ‘bolus’ applied to the body. It can be ‘dry’ or oily’, depending on the condition. This is very effective in opening the channels and removing inflammation and toxins that are dislodged in the body.
